CJ had the best drivers for Bristol dirt in having Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Austin Dillon and Martin Truex Jr. Larson, Bell and Dillon had so much past success on dirt tracks in their past including Larson winning the Chili Bowl this year and last, Bell the two years prior and Dillon winning a late model race on this very Bristol track last week.

Then, you get Truex Jr. dominating the Truck race earlier in the day and you can see why this was shaping up to be a dominating day for CJ.

Instead, Larson and Bell crashed with each other, Dillon was no where to be found and Truex despite dominating early, had a tire problem late and finished outside the top 15 in 19th. Dillon, was 21st and Larson/Bell 29th and 34th respectively.

Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch and Chase Briscoe were his best drivers in 15th, 16th and 20th. That’s why he only totaled 50 points.

Eric meanwhile had a season high for himself with 180 points at Bristol. He got the win with Joey Logano, a third with Denny Hamlin, sixth from William Byron and 10th out of Chase Elliott for four drivers in the top 10.

Greg had Stenhouse Jr. and Blaney up front to get 115 points.

Now, we have a week off to observe Easter as Eric cut into the deficit and trails CJ by just 35 points. Greg is 410 points back himself.
