Noah Gragson was teasing the last day or so that he had an announcement coming. Many speculated if it was to join one of the NASCAR Cup Series openings with the most popular pick being the Las Vegas native tabbed as Jimmie Johnson’s replacement in the No. 48 Chevrolet at Hendrick Motorsports.
Well, Gragson, 22 did have an announcement for 2021, but it wasn’t a Cup ride. Gragson, will return to JR Motorsports for a third season next year as he will remain in the No. 9 Chevrolet.
The confirmation was released on social media on Thursday afternoon.
Gragson, has two wins this season alone. But, despite a win at Daytona in the season opener, he has always said this year that he’s still fighting for a job. He said following the June race in Atlanta that he didn’t really know what he’s going to do for 2021.
Now, he does.
Gragson, has two wins in 57 career NXS starts to go along with 21 top five finishes and 31 top 10’s. 10 of those 21 top fives have come this season alone. He also has led 508 of his 590 career laps in the Xfinity Series in 2020 as well.
He also won two times in 47 starts in the NASCAR Truck Series for KBM too.
