INDIANAPOLIS — Kyle Larson will become the sixth driver to attempt the Indy 500/Coca-Cola 600 double on the same day. On Thursday, Arrow McLaren and Hendrick Motorsports had a joint announcement that they’ll team up to bring Larson to the 2024 Indianapolis 500.
He follows six others that have tried it.
1994: John Andretti: 10th (-4) at Indy, 36th (OUT) at Charlotte
1995: Davy Jones: 23rd (OUT) at Indy, DNQ at Charlotte
1997 Robby Gordon: 29th (OUT) at Indy, 41st (OUT) at Charlotte
1999: Tony Stewart: 9th (-4) at Indy, 4th at Charlotte
2000: Robby Gordon: 6th at Indy, 35th (-11) at Charlotte
2001: Tony Stewart: 6th at Indy, 3rd at Charlotte
2002: Robby Gordon: 8th at Indy, 16th (-1) at Charlotte
2003: Robby Gordon: 22nd (OUT) at Indy, 17th (-1) at Charlotte
2004: Robby Gordon: 29th (Gordon didn’t complete the race at Indy due to rain delay) at Indy, 40th (OUT) at Charlotte
2014: Kurt Busch: 6th at Indy, 40th (OUT) at Charlotte
