Building your next top NASCAR bet

You may have seen the NASCAR fan that did what we all should have done. Bet top 10 finishes for long shots and parlay them for a hefty payday. It’s brilliant for a superspeedway race. Those drivers are better locks for top 10’s than finding a winner. It’s because if you’ve never been to a Daytona or Talladega race, you usually have your front runners racing in one big group and backmarkers riding around several seconds behind in hopes of not wadding up their underfunded race cars. They can’t afford the major crash damage that a Daytona or Talladega produces.

In turn, in the closing laps, there they usually are. Even better if you get as much carnage as we had which took out a ton of drivers. It’s almost a top 10 by default.

While those type of odds aren’t there for races outside of those tracks, here’s a few you can parlay together for a still nice payout on Sunday night.

  • Kevin Harvick (+600 for a top 3) – In 2020, Harvick finished 1st, 3rd and 1st respectively on this track. Last year he was 6th and 5th last year and 4th this past May for 12 straight top 10 finishes here including 9 of them being in the top 5. He led 63 total laps here in 16 starts at Darlington with RCR. He’s already led 730 in 14 starts with SHR. With 2 wins in the last 4 weeks, these are phenomenal odds.
  • Ross Chastain (+350 for a top 3) – Great odds again for a driver that finished 3rd last year and wrecked while leading on the slick patch in Turn 2 this past May…
  • Austin Dillon (+110 for a top 10) – 2 top 5’s including a runner-up in 2020 as well as 5 top 11’s in his last 7 at Darlington puts him on this list. Dillon was 9th in May.
  • Daniel Suarez – (+150 for a top 10) – He was 13th in this race last year and 10th in May.
