INDIANAPOLIS — Doug Boles was in the media center on Thursday morning talking about plans for the upcoming 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500 (11 a.m. ET, NBC, INDYCAR Radio Network). However, before we get to Sunday’s near capacity race, we first have to get through the Carb Day sessions.
On Friday is final NTT INDYCAR Series practice which is as of now slated for a 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET activity. After is the annual Pit Stop Competition then the concerts to follow. But, with mother nature looking to make her presence known, it’s anyone’s guess what happens.
Boles said on Friday that the main focus is getting the practice is so even if it’s delayed, they’ll put all the efforts on getting this going. That includes canceling the Pit Stop Competition.
Also, the concerts will start around 3:30 p.m. ET rain or shine and even if cars are on track at that time too.
