Prime Sports NASCAR – weekly fantasy team update leaving COTA and heading towards Richmond

Eric’s move of adding Ross Chastain is quickly looking like a good one. He was runner-up for him last week and now a victor this time around. With 4 straight top 3 finishes, he’s proving that he’s legit. He bested Greg’s Alex Bowman on Sunday in COTA for his first career victory and landing Eric his first win of the 2022 season.

The thing is, Eric dropped third place finisher Christopher Bell to land Chastain and if not for a penalty in Atlanta on the final lap, Bell would have 2 straight top 3 results. So, Eric has dropped Almriola who’s since cooled to pick Bell back up.

However, the runner-up for Bowman is great in a sense that he can prove that he also can get a top five when he’s not winning. He now has 2 top 5’s in the last 4 weeks and heading to a track that he won at last year.

Eric had Tyler Reddick (5th) up front too but Denny Hamlin (18th), Aric Almirola (19th), Daniel Suarez (24th) and Joey Logano (31st) all struggling to finish well. Kevin Harvick (11th) was his other driver on his team.

Greg had a similar day with sixth place finisher Ryan Blaney being his only other top 10 driver. CJ didn’t get a win but on a day he doesn’t, he still gets 4 cars in the top 10 and has the overall lead heading to Richmond.

Greg now leads CJ by 50 points with Eric still lagging way behind with 985 total scored. By virtue of that, the two made a massive trade. Eric gets Kyle Larson and Kurt Busch from Greg’s team while Greg will receive Kevin Harvick and Tyler Reddick.
