Here we are with two races remaining in the 2021 NTT IndyCar Series season. The tight chase is on, but one battle to watch for Sunday’s Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey (3 p.m. ET, NBC, INDYCAR Radio Network) is who can win this weekend’s race?
With this being just the second time in decades that the series has been coming to Laguna Seca, the race could be wide open. The only data we have to look at his from 2019 and even that race was run without the Aeroscreen.
So, here are five sleepers to watch this weekend.
We’re getting good odds for a driver who’s good on natural road courses, especially since he finished fourth back in 2019 too.
He’s tested in Laguna in the past and has been good on these types of circuits in 2021. He’s a potential winner on Sunday.
He’s been solid on natural road courses this season and was 11th in 2019.
He’s at his best on tracks like this and so far, he’s ending his season on a high note. Harvey, has three straight top 10s including a top five last Sunday in Portland.
He has a history here in Champ Car and was seventh in 2019 too.
