Chase Elliott has won two straight races at Watkins Glen. Only two other drivers have won this race three straight times. Can Elliott make it a three-peat on Sunday? With how well he and Hendrick Motorsports are doing this season, he’s the heavy favorite. So is Martin Truex Jr. who’s finished runner-up to Elliott the last couple of years as well as winning the year prior to that.
With that said, the odds are great for these drivers to maybe steal a win on Sunday.
Ryan Blaney
Worth a risk here. He has two top 10’s in his last three Watkins Glen starts and enters having scored four top six finishes in his last five races on the season.
Kurt Busch
He’s scored some top 10’s on road courses this season and also has seven straight top 11 results in Watkins Glen too.
Matt DiBenedetto
He was sixth last time out in 2019 with Leavine Family Racing. Can he make some magic on Sunday?
Chase Briscoe
He’s good on road courses and could easily steal a win on Sunday.
Ross Chastain
He has three top 10’s already on road courses this season and driving a car that Kyle Larson had a pair of top 10’s in his last two starts on this track in.
