INDIANAPOLIS — The 2021 USAC Silver Crown schedule was unveiled on Tuesday night and its a doozy. On a quick scan, you’d find some early highlights to the season.
For the first time ever, the Silver Crown cars will race at Winchester. It will also be the first USAC event at Winchester Speedway since 2011 too.
After that is the return of the Hoosier 100. The race was supposed to be done after a classic 2019 event. But, they brought it back last August after a change to the dirt wasn’t made due to COVID and as it’s still not done, the 66th annual event is back on Thursday, May 27.
That’s a massive plus to keep this prestigious event around longer.
A day later is the Carb Night Classic at Lucas Oil Raceway for a fun week of events leading up to the 105th Running of the Indianapolis 500 a few days later.
What a fantastic way to get the 2021 season started.
Then after going to Williams Grove, Madison, a yet to be named race and Selinsgrove, a return trip to LOR commences for a super weekend. Friday night will have Sprint Cars with Midgets as a part of a doubleheader with Silver Crown cars on Saturday. Win all three, get $100k. Win 2 of 3 get $50k.
That’s also the INDYCAR/NASCAR doubleheader at IMS as well.
Then it’s to Springfield and DuQuoin followed by a pair of races in Ohio for the 4 Crown at Eldora and the season finale in Toledo.
12 races, six on dirt and five on pavement with historic tracks. Well done. Well done.
