Charlie Kimball is happy to be full time again. He’s had a relatively quiet season thus far as he currently sits 19th in the points. But, this could be the weekend he shines.
The AJ Foyt Racing driver has three top 11 finishes in nine tries in his No. 4 Chevrolet. Two of those three were on another natural road course in Road America.
Now, it’s to Mid-Ohio, the site of Kimballs lone Indy Car win back in 2013.
He was also eighth a few years ago too. Now, can he surprise us with a top five on Sunday?
“I’m glad we are able to get the opportunity to race at Mid-Ohio this year,” Kimball said. “A doubleheader means double the fun around the track, which is one of my favorites. I have a lot of confidence in the No. 4 Tresiba Chevrolet after leaving the last road course at Road America and knowing that will translate into this weekend. Strategically, the 15-lap-shorter race adds a wrinkle in the thought process, but having won there in 2013 with a healthy dose of strategy, the opportunity exists for us to excel.”
