Seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson and Ally Financial chief marketing officer Andrea Brimmer felt the No. 48 team would benefit from a championship-caliber reset as it pushes to make the NASCAR Playoffs this season. As a result, the No. 48 Chevrolet has a brand-new look for the rest of the year. The new look – inspired by calls from Johnson’s longtime fans – was revealed Thursday.
Johnson, is winless this year and in a drought. So, in order to make a playoff push, they felt maybe it was time to go back.
