Ty Gibbs is en fuego right now. He dominated Saturday’s ARCA Race at the Iowa Speedway en route to his third victory in his last four starts in his No. 18 Toyota.
The grandson of Joe Gibbs jumped out to an early lead and never relinquished in earning his fifth career win in the series.
Sam Mayer finished 1.410 seconds behind in his No. 21 Chevrolet. It’s was Mayer’s 11th career top five finish in 15 starts including four in-a-row.
Bret Holmes was third for his fourth straight to seven on the season while defending race winner Chandler Smith was fourth in his No. 20 Toyota. For Smith, this was his worst finish of the year as his previous three finishes were either wins (2) or runner-ups (1).
Taylor Gray rounded out the top five.
Three of the top four in the standings had rough days. Points leader Michael Self only came home sixth while second place and fourth place respectively in points coming into Saturday, Drew Dollar and Hailie Deegan, each had DNFs and finished outside the top 15. Dollar was 17th while Deegan was 18th. The two had problems last weekend in Kentucky with Dollar crashing Deegan. She fell to fourth in the standings as a result.
