Will Power has the worst luck of anyone I’ve known. He had a struggling car in comparison to his teammates for the season opener at Texas last month. He’d finish 13th while they celebrated with podiums.
Then last weekend in Indy, he was quickest in practice. He backed that up and won the pole for the race. He dominated early before an ill timed caution flew. Then, he stalled his No. 12 Chevrolet in the pits.
Power, finished 20th after leading 28 laps. Now, he’s 15th in the standings, 73 points out of the lead.

His teammates are 2-3 in the championship standings.
Can Power get going this weekend? He has two shots at doing so.
“I am so pumped for a doubleheader weekend at Road America,” Power said. “Last weekend just about everything that could have gone wrong for our Verizon Chevy team did, and we are just ready to head into the weekend super motivated to improve upon last weekend.
“I love road courses and this track is by far one of the most beautiful on the circuit. I’m glad we’ll have some fans there since that track always has such a lively crowd. They really make the event even more fun.”
Power, has three top five finishes in four Road America tries. Only reason it’s not 4-for-4 is because Power’s engine failed him at the start of the 2018 race. He won in 2016 and was second last year.
He needs a solid podium in both races.
