The NASCAR Cup Series starting lineup for Sunday’s Dixie Vodka 400 (3:30 pm ET, FOX, MRN) is set. Like the previous two races, the lineup was determined by a blind draw which took place on Thursday night on Race Hub on FS1.
The top 6 rows were based off of spots 1-12 in owners points. A draw among them took place with Denny Hamlin earning the pole.

For Rows 7-12, it was a same scenario but for spots 13-24 in owners points. Same for 25-36 in owners points (Group 3). The final spots went to open non charter teams.
Where this draw is important is, six of the last seven races at the Homestead-Miami Speedway have been won by a driver coming from a top five starting spot. Also, with the draw format, all four winners have come from the top 10 with three of the four from the first 3 Rows.
When inverting, like we did in race 2 of Darlington and Charlotte, both winners started 16th and 19th respectively. Prior to this new adjustments, the starting spots of the races we qualified for were 21st, 5th, 3rd and 13th respectively.
