Tyler Courtney To Race Eldora Truck Race With Clauson-Marshall Racing

We have a new NASCAR team coming. Clauson-Marshall Racing will move up to NASCAR Truck Series competition for a race this year and form a team for USAC driver Tyler Courtney to run the Eldora Dirt Derby. They’ll team with Niece Motorsports in making this happen.

Courtney, 26 is a star in the making and one of CMR’s prized possessions. He’s raced in USAC since 2017 and amassed over 40 feature victories to his credit. The USAC Midget and Sprint Car champion as well as winner of last year’s Hoosier 100, is thrilled to be making his NASCAR debut in a couple of months.

“I’m very excitred and grateful for this opportunity,” Courtney said via a team release. “I want to thank everyone from Clauson Marshall Racing and Niece Motorsports for making this possible. Eldora is one of my favorite racetracks and I’ve been lucky enough to have some success there in open wheel cars. I’m a little nervous but up for the challenge of racing a track around Eldora Speedway and hopefully making the dirt world and my fans proud.”

Clauson Marshall Racing was founded in 2008 by the late great Bryan Clauson and his father Tim. It was a way for Bryan to continue on with his success on the USAC tour as well as providing a team for younger drivers to get their start. The Clauson’s are great in giving back and this was their way of helping the next generation.

They moved up to IndyCar racing last year in fielding an Indy only program for Pippa Mann. Now, they’ll dabble into NASCAR with Courtney.

“We are very honored to be able to take our company and our brand to new and exciting venues in the motorsports world,” Tim Clauson said in a statement. “Our 2020 goal was to be at all of the big dirt events with Clauson Marshall Racing no matter the series, the venue or vehicle. We are really excited to entire into this partnership with Niece Motorsports, even more exciting is we get to do it with one of our own, Tyler Courtney.

“We are extremely humbled to be able to provide one of our drivers with an opportunity to show their ability and talent both on and off the track on a big stage.”

Clauson, noted Courtney was the obvious choice due to his abilities over the last couple of years with them and honestly shocked he hasn’t gotten the call to move up to this level by now.

Niece, is equally as excited to be receiving this partnership too.

“We are excited to have Tyler joining the team at Eldora, team owner Al Niece said. He has quite a resume in dirt racing and certainly a lot of success at Eldora.”
