Important NASCAR Test To Occur In Las Vegas This Week

The most anticipated NASCAR test in years will take place this week at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Several Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series teams, as well as a few NASCAR XFINITY Series teams will head west to take on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for a two-day organizational test.

What makes this test so big is because it’s the first time of the offseason that a large contention of Cup cars will be on the same track at the exact same time. With so much uncertainty on how this new rules package will play out, we will get a good indicator starting on Thursday to how it will all look.

There’s been some tests at Fontana and elsewhere this offseason, but none have had more than five cars at them. This one though will have 17 Cup drivers attending, with representatives from most of the teams including one car for each manufacturer as a test car just for them. That will be the “wheel force car” that will be driven by Ross Chastain (Chevrolet), David Ragan (Ford) and Drew Herring (Toyota).

Notable drivers like Brad Keselowski, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch and others will be in attendance. The reason behind why some of the other stars aren’t out west is because NASCAR only mandates just one car per organization that will be allowed.

The test starts on Thursday at 2 p.m. ET and lasts until 10 p.m. ET. They’re broken down in three sessions that start at 2, 6 and 8 p.m. ET. Friday, will be at Noon ET and 2 p.m. ET. The event is open to the public.
