Brennan Poole Is Back In NASCAR, To Drive In Truck Series For 2019 Season

There’s no secret about it, Brennan Poole’s departure from Chip Ganassi Racing after the 2017 NASCAR XFINITY Series season was ugly. Poole, was involved with an off track legal battle with his sponsor DC Solar. The sponsor, remained with CGR for 2018 and was supposed to be back in 2019 too if not for some legal problems of their own.

Poole, says that he brought DC Solar to NASCAR and that the drama between all three sides was ugly. That led to him sitting out a majority of the 2018 NASCAR season. Now though, he’s back.

“I am extremely excited about driving for On Point Motorsports this season,” stated Poole via a release on his social media. “From the very first moment I set foot in the On Point Motorsports facility, I continue to be so impressed with what the team has put together for the 2019 season. We have a great opportunity to surprise a lot of people and we are ready to go racing.”

On Point Motorsports, made five starts in 2018 with drivers Austin Theriault, Jeb Burton and Scott Lagasse Jr. They also field entries in the ARCA Racing Series in the No. 29 Toyota.

“We have put a tremendous amount of sweat and tears into the development of On Point Motorsports and the results show when a driver of the caliber of Brennan Poole is excited about being a part of this,” stated Steven Lane, manager of On Point Motorsports. “We have worked very hard as an organization to build this program and we are very excited to welcome a driver with the talents of Brennan to our team. We definitely have some exciting times ahead for all of us.”

Poole has 83 career XFINITY Series starts with eight top five finishes and 36 top-10 finishes. He made the playoffs in each of his two years finishing eighth and six respectively.
