INDIANAPOLIS — Thursday night is ladies night for night 2 of the fifth annual Driven 2 Saves Lives BC39. Among the 36 drivers competing, 5 of which are females. Jade Avedisian, Taylor Reimer, Kaylee Bryson, Mariah Ede, Randi Pankratz will vie for the 3 guaranteed spots into Saturday night’s 39-lap A-Main feature.
However, there’s also plenty of heavy hitters in points too. 5 of the top 11 in points will run this night including Bryant Wiedeman (2nd in points), Avedisian (6th in points), Jacob Denney (7th in points), Reimer (10th in points) and Thomas Meseraull (11th in points).
You also have a star studded list of part-timers too.
Defending BC39 winner Buddy Kofoid is here. He has two wins, a runner-up and a fourth-place finish in five starts this season. Kevin Thomas Jr. is on this night. He’s finished 3rd, 8th, 13th in three tries here. So is CJ Leary who’s running in his second event. Also is three-time BC39 starter Jerry Coons Jr. He’s finished 9th, 23rd, 9th in his tries here.
Public gates open on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET with hot laps at 5 p.m. ET, followed by qualifying, opening ceremonies, heat races (8 laps each), the C-Main (10 laps), the Semi-Feature (12 laps) and the Feature event (30 laps) that pays $5k to win.
Points for the heats will be accumulated by finishing position and total number of positions advanced. Cars will be positioned into qualifying races based on the passing points accumulated in the heats. Total points from the heat races and qualifying races will be added to set the starting lineups for the prelim main events on Thursday and Friday. The top-16 overall in accumulated points will start straight-up in the first eight rows of Thursday and Friday’s A-Main feature.
Prelim night finishers 4-17 will be slated for one of two semi-features on Saturday night. Prelim night feature finishers 18-22, plus finishers 7-15 in the semi-feature, will start in Saturday’s C-Main. Prelim night semi-feature finishers 16th on back will start in Saturday’s D-Main.
All USAC National Midget licensed drivers and entrants will receive 50 appearance points during each night of their participation on Thursday and Friday.
