Gragson medically cleared to return to No. 42 Chevrolet this weekend in Nashville

Noah Gragson is back. After missing the last race of the season two weeks ago in Sonoma due to a concussion, Gragson was medically cleared to return to his No. 42 Chevrolet seat for Legacy Motor Club for this weekend’s Ally 400 (7 p.m. ET, NBC, PRN) at the Nashville Superspeedway.

Gragson was involved in a crash at the beginning of the month at the World Wide Technology Raceway. On Lap 197 of the Enjoy Illinois 300, he lost his brakes and slammed the Turn 1 SAFER barriers.

He initially was evaluated and released from the infield care center that evening. Upon return home to North Carolina, he began to experience concussion-like symptoms mid-week and started seeking treatment.

By doing so, he had to miss the Toyota/Save Mart 350 as a result. Grant Enfinger filled in. Now, after basically two weeks off, Gragson is back.

He enters the race at the Nashville Superspeedway back in 33rd in points. He has to now win a race in order to get into the postseason, which is something he’s eligible for as NASCAR as granted Gragson a playoff waiver.
