Byron, Custer unveil Darlington throwback schemes

Cole Custer is throwing it back to his boyhood hero Jason Leffler. His Darlington paint scheme will mimic Leffler’s colors when he raced for Haas CNC Racing. That wasn’t the only scheme unveiled on Tuesday.

William Byron’s No. 24 Axalta Throwback paint scheme for next month’s race at Darlington Raceway. The paint scheme is a tribute to the 2007 No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet look fielded by Hendrick Motorsports Vice Chairman Jeff Gordon. The NASCAR Hall of Famer won in that car in the spring of 2007 at Darlington and that season also saw him tie and pass Dale Earnhardt on the all-time Cup Series wins list.
