Greg DePalma and Eric Smith (Race Review Online) preview IndyCar’s annual doubleheader weekend on the Detroit River – the Dual in Detroit, with twin 70-lap races around the street circuit on Belle Isle. It’s the first race on the IndyCar schedule since the Indianapolis 500, though newly crowned winner Helio Castroneves isn’t in the field as Meyer Shank Racing goes back to a one-car entry for the week-to-week series. Scott Dixon and Josef Newgarden won when the races were last held in 2019, with last year’s edition canceled by the COVID outbreak.
