Belle Isle has been a place to where some crazy stuff happens. That’s why we’ve had six different winners in the last eight races on the 2.35-mile street circuit including just one pole winner being victorious in the last 14 tries there. So, that opens up the door for some sleeper winners. Here’s five.
Pato O’Ward
Why not go with him this weekend? He’s already won this year and has a championship contending car.
Marcus Ericsson
He was 13th in Race 1 of his Belle Isle debut and then second in the second race. Watch out for him this weekend.
Ryan Hunter-Reay
Could this be the spot that he ends his slump? Hunter-Reay hasn’t won an Indy Car race since the end of 2018 and has four straight top five finishes on this circuit.
Sebastien Bourdais
He was strong in St. Pete and has two wins here. He’s also had four top 10’s in his last seven Belle Isle starts in general.
Ed Jones
Dale Coyne is known to pull a rabbit out of his hat on street courses, so watch out for Jones this weekend. He has three top 10’s in six Belle Isle starts including a podium in 2018.
