For the sixth time in the last seven races, Eric nailed the winner and for the first time all season, we have an expert in plus money. It only took 10 weeks….But, we finally have made some money on NASCAR this season after seeing some unlikely winners to start the first three weeks. That put us all in a -$300 hole. Eric, has since stormed back in getting help from two 30-1 or longer odds winners as well as 10-1 winner Brad Keselowski on Sunday.
While he didn’t win a ton, he went with a lot of drivers this past weekend in order to not lose. With him gaining so much over the last month, Eric didn’t want to take the risk and drop from -$2 to -$102. So, he chose a lot of drivers to bet on in hopes of making a small profit which in turn makes him profitable for the season.
It paid off.
Either way, coming to the checkered flag, he was good. Keselowski would win him $10 but he had Ryan Blaney ($20), William Byron ($20), Michael McDowell ($32) and Matt DiBenedetto ($32) all there battling for the win. One of them was going to triumph.
CJ won $10 off Keselowski too and moves to -$509. Greg didn’t pick Keselowski and falls to -$660.
Now, it’s to Kansas to where Eric was a little more conservative again just to ensure he has a winner. He took four of the top favorites in Hamlin, Truex Jr., Keselowski and Larson.
Hamlin has two top fives in his last two starts on 550 tracks including a win in two of his last three Kansas starts. Truex, has a top 10 in all three starts on 550 tracks this season including six top six results in his last eight at Kansas. Keselowski, had a pair of top fives last year in Kansas to go along with a 2019 win for three top fives in his last four. Larson, stormed to a dominating win in Vegas and Kansas races a lot like that track.
Kyle Busch was a no brainer for our experts at 11-1 with him scoring eight top five finishes in his last 12 starts. Plus, his best race all season came at a like track in Vegas where he finished third.
CJ went with the top picks with Hamlin, Truex, Keselowski, Larson and Busch too. He, Eric and Greg also went with William Byron who has eight straight top eight finishes including three straight top 10’s in Kansas too. That’s CJ’s longest play this week with him being the only one to take a chance on Chase Elliott too.
Greg’s top driver is Kevin Harvick (8-1) and I mean why not? Harvick had a pair of top fives in Kansas last year and also has a pair of top 10’s in three 550 tracks this season. He and Eric went with both Christopher Bell (25-1) and Matt DiBenedetto (50-1) for longer shots with Greg also going even deeper down the list with both RCR teammates at 60-1 as well as Chris Buescher at 125-1.
Eric said his final pick was between Truex Jr. and Blaney with Truex taking the cake due to trends. We’ve had 12 straight different winners on 1.5-mile tracks and Truex isn’t on that list. Neither is Bell, DiBenedetto, Chase Briscoe, Aric Almirola or Alex Bowman.
DiBenedetto is 50-1, starts in the top five and driving a car that scored a pair of runner-up finishes in Vegas, a similar track to Kansas, last year to go along with that car producing four top seven finishes in Blaney’s first six Kansas starts.
Talk about value.
We will get a winner this week so long as Joey Logano (8-1), Kurt Busch (30-1) or someone 66-1 or worse don’t land in victory lane.
