Phoenix Raceway to host a limited amount of fans for championship weekend in November

The championships for all three top levels of NASCAR won’t be celebrated behind clsoed doors in November. Phoenix Raceway announce don Friday that the Truck Series (Nov. 6), the Xfinity Series (No. 7) and Cup Series (Nov. 8) races will all have a limited amount of fans through the gates of the Avondale track.

The track said that around 20-percent capacity will be allowed meaning around 8,500 spectators.

“While we wish we could have a full house with the greatest fans in motorsports, the health and safety of everyone is our top priority and we are excited that we can still share this NASCAR championship weekend experience with many in a safe environment,” said Phoenix Raceway President Julie Giese in a statement. “The entire Phoenix Raceway team has been looking forward to hosting the track’s first-ever championship weekend since it was announced in March of last year, and we’re thrilled to be able to welcome fans all three days to share in this monumental event for our venue, our community and the entire state of Arizona.”

The race was heading towards another sell out, so season ticket holders will receive top priority for those that will be able to come. They noted that no everyone who wants to come will be allowed to.

There will be no infield access while camping will still be available. All campers will be pre-screened upon arrival. Campsites are limited to a maximum six guests per spot.

The other races left that have confirmed fans are –

Darlington (around 8k)

Bristol ( around 30k)

Talladega (no set number yet)

Texas (no set number yet)

Phoenix (around 8,500)

Richmond won’t have any fans while Las Vegas, Charlotte (ROVAL), Kansas and Martinsville are still TBA.
