Spencer Davis to miss Fridays Truck race at Michigan due to testing positive for COVID-19

We have the second NASCAR driver that has tested positive for the coronavirus. Back in July, Jimmie Johnson tested positive and missed the July 5 Brickyard 400 as a result. On Thursday, Truck Series driver Spencer Davis announced via his social media that he will miss Fridays race at the Michigan International Speedway due to a positive test.

“This week I had to go take tests and one positive test result is keeping us from racing Michigan,” Davis said in a statement. “I support the protocols in place by the CDC and NASCAR and plan on taking the correct steps to come back to the track.”

Davis, 21, has competed in nine races thus far this season. He has 18 career Truck Series starts overall with three career top 10 finishes for the Georgia native.
