Toyota has won five of the nine years that the NASCAR Cup Series has been coming to the Kentucky Speedway. Joe Gibbs Racing won three of those five events with Furniture Row Racing taking the other two.
That’s good for someone like Erik Jones. He hasn’t won a race all season but is getting close. A win on Sunday afternoon would go a long way for him in his pursuit of another contract extension to remain at JGR.
Jones, has made three career Kentucky Speedway starts with a best finish coming last year with a third place run in his No. 20 Toyota. He was seventh a year prior in 2018.

In 2017, as a rookie, he came home sixth in his No. 77 Toyota for Furniture Row Racing. With where he sits in the playoff standings, a win would guarantee him a spot into the playoffs and allow them time to secure a direction for 2021.
Jones, is -6 right now but can easily make that up with another solid outing in the Bluegrass State on Sunday.
