Scott Dixon won the season opener last month in Texas. Simon Pagenaud finished second to him that night. They also finished 1-2, just in the opposite order, in this race las year.
Meanwhile, Alexander Rossi had a power unit failure to start the race at Texas and put him in a hole as a result. Rossi, is 15th in the standings, 38 points out.
He doesn’t have much room to have another bad result, especially with how well Dixon and Pagenaud perform here.
Rossi, has three top 10s in four tries in the 85 Lap race but only one of which was a top five. He’s never had a podium.
“This is quite a challenging track to get right, so our work will certainly be cut out for us with the expected heat, as well as the variable of the Aeroscreen,” said Rossi. “I am excited to be racing back in Indy, but we will certainly be missing our fans again this weekend.”
He needs a solid top five this weekend.
