Thorson Wins Midget Week Finale By .065 Seconds Over Larson, Larson Wins Championship Though

Tanner Thorson has been close multiple times this past week. Thorson, finished second to Kyle Larson twice in a three day span earlier in the week during the 16th annual Indiana Midget Week. He also was running second to Chris Windom on Friday night before a mechanical failure while in second place in the final corner on the final lap.

But, Thorson got revenge in the final race of the six race show. This time, Thorson got the best of Larson in a thrilling photo finish.

It was his fourth top four finish of the six race week in a wild ending. Tyler Courtney flipped while leading with 11 to go in Turn 1. Third place Thomas Meseraull got some damage in the crash and had to pit for repairs.

On Lap 28, Ethan Mitchell caused the final caution, setting up a two lap shootout between Thorson, Larson and Chris Windom.

Larson, finished second and earned the Midget Week Championship on the heels of four wins and two runner-up finishes. He becomes the 13th different champion of the event.
