It’s safe to say that any feud between Chase Elliott and Kyle Busch is squashed. It’s done. Elliott’s gesture confirmed that.
When Busch accidentally crashed Elliott at the end of the second NASCAR Cup Series race at the Darlington Raceway back on May 20, Elliott and his No. 9 Chevrolet team at Hendrick Motorsports were livid with Busch.
Busch, understood their frustrations too.

Elliott, who was the first car up on fresh tires, was running second and on the bumper of leader Denny Hamlin who was a sitting duck. Busch, made a maneuver to try and squeeze in line behind Elliott but in front of fourth place at the time Kevin Harvick on the front stretch of the 1.366-mile South Carolina oval, but clipped Elliott’s left rear quarter panel and sent him spinning into the inside wall. Instead of winning, he finished 38th.
Elliott, then gave Busch the middle finger salute while his crew chief (Alan Gustafson) gave Busch a piece of his mind. The next day, Busch said he and Elliott spoke and that Elliott was a classy guy for how he was handling the situation. Elliott, confirmed they spoke and said that he basically forgave Busch but won’t take back his actions.
Then, Elliott goes out and beats Busch in the Truck Series race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26 and takes the $100k Bounty given by Kevin Harvick and Gander RV & Outdoors CEO Marcus Lemonis.
Busch, finished second but was visibly frustrated. See, if no one beat Busch, then Busch would get a portion of the bounty to his foundation. With all the mistakes on Busch’s No. 51 Toyota that night, he was fuming.
Elliott, then did Busch’s celebratory bow after victory which sparked maybe that the rivalry was back on. But, on Friday, Elliott tweeted out what he did with the money that he received.
The $50k from Harvick went to the Feed the Children’s COVID-19 response. The $50k from Lemonis went to Busch’s foundation and the Red Cross.
That’s a stand up class act if you ask me. Elliott, a couple of weeks after being wrecked out by Busch, donated some of the bounty money to Busch’s fund anyways.
“Y’all should definitely recognize this wouldn’t have happened or been any fun without (Kevin Harvick) tweeting what he did,” Elliott tweeted. “So thanks to him for making it all happen and Marcus for adding to the fun.”
