AJ Allmendinger will return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series for another start on Saturday afternoon. Allmendinger, will make his first ever NXS start at Bristol (Tenn) Motor Speedway.
Allmendinger, earned Kaulig Racing their second-ever win in 2019 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL, as well as their second-ever pole award at Road America
“I am super pumped to be back with Kaulig Racing this week at Bristol,” Allmendinger said. “I have never raced there in the Xfinity Series, but have quite a few Cup Series starts under my belt. I am thankful for Matt Kaulig and for the opportunity to get back in the seat of the No. 16 Ellsworth Advisors Chevy on Saturday.”
The California native has made 16 starts overall in the series and has reached victory lane in three of them. He attempted to make the show back in February at Daytona but all three Kaulig cars ran into issues.
“We are so excited to have AJ (Allmendinger) back in the No. 16 Ellsworth Advisors Chevy,” said team president Chris Rice. “We feel he brings so much to the table from a competition standpoint, so to have him add a short track to the schedule is great for us. It will definitely be a challenge going straight into the race with him not having seat time in a while, but we are confident in his ability to unload and go.”
