Rain Postpones Xfinity Race To Thursday, Forecast For Cup Race Not Promising Either

The NASCAR Xfinity Series teams have waited since March 8 to get back to action. Their last race was on March 7, some 73 days ago, at the Phoenix Raceway. Part of NASCARs plan of resuming their 2020 season was for the Xfinity Series to run on Tuesday night at the Darlington Raceway as well as next Tuesday night at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Unfortunately, they’ll have to wait a little bit longer still.

Tuesday’s Toyota 200 has been postponed until Thursday now (12 pm ET/FS1/MRN) as Mother nature ruined their return due to several inches of rain falling on the South Carolina race track.

Despite NASCARs best efforts, the rain kept coming, so at 8 pm ET, they decided enough was enough which promoted a wait until Thursday.

The reason for Thursday is because the Cup Series is scheduled to race on Wednesday for the second time in four days at the 1.366 mile track for the Toyota 500 (6 pm ET/FS1/MRN). Kevin Harvick won Sunday’s first race back since March.

That start time though was moved up by 90 minutes due to more rain being forecasted for Wednesday. There’s an 85-percent chance of rain fall during race time tomorrow, meaning that it’s likely the Cup race also gets moved to 7 pm ET on Thursday night. Unfortunately can’t Thursday’s forecast looks for more wet weather as well.
