Look For Harvick To Lead SHR Camp Wednesday In Darlington

Stewart-Haas Racing was one of those teams too with a big swing at crew chief changes. Clint Bowyer and Aric Almirola swapped crew chiefs while Cole Custer moved up with his crew chief from the Xfinity Series to Cup.

Bowyer and Almirola have struggled out of the gates in 2020 too with Bowyer landing three finishes of 12th or worse and his season best result of fifth in Phoenix, the Kansas native said that they need way more speed.

Almirola, scored a pair of eighth place finishes prior to the resumption on Sunday but was 22nd and 21st in the two races prior and just 12th in this past weekend’s 293 Lap race. While he’s seventh in points entering Wednesday night, a solid top 15 would suffice.

Bowyer, has one top 10 finish in his last 13 Darlington starts with his last three being 22nd, 40th, 36th and 17th respectively. Almirola, has never scored a top 10 in nine Darlington tries with his last five finishes being 32nd, 20th, 14th, 17th and 12th.

Not a good trio for SHR to contend for a win with this weekend.

Despite that, Kevin Harvick may though. Since joining SHR in 2014, Harvick has been en fuego at Darlington. He’s never finished outside of the top 10 in seven tries and has led 677 laps in those race. In 16 starts with RCR, he led a combined 63 laps on the same race track.

He dominated Sunday’s race in a winning effort. He also has a top 10 finish in literally every race run this season.
