A couple of weeks ago, NASCAR unveiled their updates 2020 schedule which plans to race seven times over an 11 day span. Part of those plans that included the immediate schedule was also how they’ll safely do so with new COVID-19 guidelines. Last Wednesday, NASCAR revealed an update to their rule book which will see the sanctioning body issue fines to those who fail to adhere to these new guidelines.
The max fine?
$50k
Part of these rules will be for everyone in the infield to wear a mask and to social distance at all costs. A failure to do so, or any other directive issued, will result in a fine of $10,000-$50,000 in Cup. The fine for such a violation in the Xfinity Series is between $5,000 – $25,000. The fine for such a violation in the Truck series is between $2,500 – $12,500.
NASCAR also stated that all competitors holding a valid NASCAR series driver or crew member/team administrative license are required to complete a NASCAR mandated e-learning tutorial by July 31, 2020 or within 90 days of license approval.
