The situation has been fluid in the sports world. Most sporting leagues and even big events around the world have either been postponed or canceled all together. NASCAR initially wasn’t going to be affected much. But, those times have since changed.

On Friday, NASCAR has announced that not only is this weekend’s tripleheader event at the Atlanta Motor Speedway postponed, but next weekend’s action at the Homestead-Miami Speedway is too.

It’s none too surprising either. The NBA announced on Wednesday that they’d be on an indefinite hiatus. On Thursday, the NCAA, MLS, MLB and NHL followed suit. On Friday, the PGA postponed the Masters next month while Formula One announced that their first three races are now postponed too.

The NCAA Tournament, Masters and everything in between now off.

NASCAR knew on Thursday that both race weekends in Atlanta and Homestead would be run without fans. On Friday, they updated the schedule to qualifying and racing only for all three series and that those would now take place on Friday-Saturday.

The Trucks would qualify and race on Friday with the Xfinity Series and Cup drivers/teams qualifying and racing on Saturday. A few minutes later, that was updated again to just calling the whole thing off.

With Homestead knowing that they can’t have any fans there either, NASCAR went ahead and postponed that race weekend as well.
