Earnhardt Jr’s Plane Crashes In Tennessee, No Major Injuries Reported

Dale Earnhardt Jr., his wife Amy, daugher Isla and family dog just landed in Tennessee when their private jet crashed off the runway on Thursday. Multiple reports are coming in that Earnhardt Jr’s private jet crashed at the Elizabethton Municipal Airport in Elizabethton, Tenn. at 3:40 p.m.

According to Elizabethton Fire Chief Barry Carrier, the Cessna Citation rolled off the end of Runway 24 and caught fire following landing. The report says that there were five people that were onboard (Earnhardt, his wife and daughter) as well as two pilot and that they all evacuated from the aircraft with no injuries.

They were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation but all signs indicate all three will be okay.

Earnhardt, was flying to Tennessee to be part of the NBC Sports’ broadcast duties this weekend at the Bristol (Tenn) Motor Speedway which NBC later revealed that they gave Earnhardt a much needed weekend to be with his family instead. Word is Earnhardt returned to North Carolina via a car and will remain at home instead of taking part in broadcasting duties

Luckily, he and his family were able to escape serious injury in the accident.
