BROOKLYN, Mich – For the second straight year, Hattori Racing Enterprises is celebrating in victory lane at the Michigan International Speedway. This time, it was Austin Hill taking the No. 16 Toyota to victory as he led the final 10 laps en route to the victory in Saturday’s Corrigan Oil 200.

Hill, had the quickest truck on the final two restarts and would lead a race-high 26 of 105 laps overall but 25 of the final 26 of the race to bookend the regular season with earning a victory in the season opener at Daytona and now the regular season finale in Michigan.

Those are his only two NASCAR Gander Outdoors Trucks Series race wins in 67 career starts as Hill came into this weekend with three consecutive sub 30th place finishes on the season. He went from last in last weekend’s race in Eldora to first a week later in Michigan.

This was Hill’s first top five finish since Chicagoland in late June and only his second top 10 finish in the last seven races of the year. Hill also gives Toyota their fifth straight win on the Irish Hills race track.

For the second straight week Sheldon Creed brought his No. 2 Chevrolet home runner-up but comes up short in making the playoffs. Last year’s ARCA champion finished 0.125-seconds behind Hill at the finish but is heading into the playoffs in the right direction despite not being a part of the postseason. He now has six top 10’s on the year, five of which have been in the top seven in the last eight races.

Fellow rookie Tyler Dippel came home third in his No. 02 Chevrolet for his third top 10 of the year. He finished eighth last week in Eldora.

Brett Moffitt saw his two race streak of race wins at Michigan come to an end on Saturday as he brought his No. 24 Chevrolet home fourth. Moffitt, made a questionable move by staying out of the pits under the Lap 56 caution and kept the lead. But, he got lucky in getting a caution nine laps later and hit pit lane for the final time of the race. He had fresh tires but was restarting 22nd. It didn’t take him long though to get back to the front as he was in the top 10 a few laps later. He was in the top two rows for the final couple of restarts but he didn’t have the speed to get past the Toyota power in the end.

Austin Wayne Self hit pit lane with Moffitt on Lap 67 and the fresh tires benefitted him into a fifth place finish in his No. 22 Chevrolet for his third top 10 of the season.

The playoff field was also set on Saturday as Grant Enfinger took one of the final two wildcard spots with a regular season championship. Matt Crafton took the final spot as no one new won on Saturday.

The race saw eight cautions with the biggest crash coming with four laps remaining in regulation as we saw a nine truck accident sparked on the restart when Tyler Ankrum spun his tires and Matt Crafton pushed him too hard. It collected several trucks behind.
