Larson Gets 3rd Straight Top 5 Finish In Kentucky With 4 Place Run on Saturday Night

SPARTA, KY – The final box score for Saturday night’s Quaker State 400 shows that Kyle Larson brought his No. 42 Chevrolet home fourth at the Kentucky Speedway. While it wasn’t a win, it was a night to where Larson can leave happy.

First off, Saturday shows that the speed is there for Chip Ganassi Racing to win again in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. After going winless last year as an organization, Kurt Busch put them back in victory lane in thrilling fashion.

Then, Larson gives CGR two cars in the top four in Saturday night’s 269 Lap race as the California native gained seven points in the playoff standings when it was all said and done too.

Larson, took just two tires on the final pit stop and held on in his No. 42 Chevrolet to charge up to a top five, his second in the last three races on the year. It was also his third straight top 10 finish in Kentucky, two of which being in the top five, as well as his third top 10 finish in the last four races on the year as well.

Larson, finished 13th and sixth respectively in the two stages and improved two more spots in the final running order in the end.

It was a night that he needed for sure.
