Hunter-Reay Looking For 1st Victory Of Season This Weekend At One Of His Favorite Race Tracks On Earth

Andretti Autosport may get overlooked a bit this weekend in Road America. Since the NTT IndyCar Series has returned to the scenic race track in 2016, Andretti has struggled.

Zach Veach finished 22nd last year. On natural road courses this season, he’s finished 22nd, 12th and 12th respectively.

Marco Andretti has finished 12th, 18th and 11th respectively at Road America and sixth, 14th and 13th respectively on natural road courses in 2019.

Trends show both will finish 12th or worse this weekend.

What about Alexander Rossi?

He’s never finished in the top 10 on the Wisconsin road course and has finishes of ninth, fifth and 22nd respectively on natural road courses this season.

But, one of their drivers though may hold the candle for them again. That driver is Ryan Hunter-Reay. The American driver considers Road America one of his favorite tracks on this planet and hopes to reap the benefits of that this weekend.

“Road America is always a blast to drive – it’s one of my favorite racetracks on Earth,” said Hunter-Reay. “We brought the DHL team home a second place last year and this year our goal is to do one better and end the day in victory lane.”

Hunter-Reay has two top four finishes in three races on the 4-mile road course. On the season, he has four straight top eight finishes in his No. 28 Honda to go along with seven in his last eight starts on the year overall.

The momentum is building and with this being one of his favorite tracks and other drivers that consitently run up front reeling, this is his chance to capitalize.
