DAYTONA BEACH, Fla – Clint Bowyer is always up for a good time. He’s one of the best guys to follow in the NASCAR garage. But, when NASCAR has two days off between the Clash that was ran on Sunday and Wednesday’s Media Day, it could give them too much time to get into some ruckus.
See, for drivers with families, instead of going back up to North Carolina, they hit I-4 and head west to Disney World. It makes sense right? The distance between Daytona and Disney is around 90 minutes.
Well for Bowyer, he compared his most recent trip to the Orlando themepark to the chaos that ensued on Lap 55 of Sunday’s Clash at the Daytona International Speedway.
“I Went To Disney World With 20 People, That Wreck Was Nothing Compared To The Hell I Have Been Through The Last 2 Days” Says Bowyer.
He was talking about being involved in that melee with 20 laps remaining in the Clash, one in which collected 17 of the 20 cars. Bowyer, was caught up in the middle of it, ending his and most of the others drivers’ days.
“Man, I hit the 21 (Paul Menard) car,” Bowyer said of the crash. “I don’t even know how he got turned around.”
With so much carnage taking place at Daytona in recent years, Bowyer thinks nothing can compare to his trip to Disney. Maybe, he’s right.
