Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) has found great success with NTT INDYCAR SERIES rookie Callum Ilott on the road courses completed so far this season. Ilott will make his first start at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this week and looks to continue to build off the momentum gained in the No. 77 JHR Chevrolet.
The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio kicks off Friday afternoon with the first practice session at 3:30 – 4:45PM EST. Saturday morning teams will return for the final practice session from 9:30 – 10:30AM EST before three rounds of knock out qualifying begins at 2:45PM EST. Sunday morning will feature a 30-minute warm-up at 9:45AM EST followed by the 80-lap race beginning at 12:30PM EST.
Ilott is set to turn in his first laps on the 2.258-mile, 13-turn natural-terrain road course located in Lexington, Ohio. The No.77 JHR Chevrolet has qualified inside the Top-12 on the three road courses completed so far this season, with a best qualifying of seventh at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
“I’m excited to head to Mid-Ohio this week,” said Ilott. “It’s another track that I haven’t been to, so a steep learning curve on the weekend. After Road America though I am pretty sure we can do a good job. We want to keep the road course momentum going and try to get into the fast 12 again. So far we have managed to put the car into the fast 12 at every road course we have been to this year and we hope to continue that and do a good job.”
Ilott qualified in Row 6 at Barber (11th) and Road America (12th) as well as that 7th at Indy.
“We are looking forward to getting on track at Mid-Ohio this week, as we have had great success this season on the road courses with Callum,” said JHR Co-Owner and Team Principal Ricardo Juncos. “Even though this will be another new track for Callum, he has proven at each new track for him this year the high caliber of driver that he is. We are excited to host some great sponsors as well and hope to deliver them a great race in the No. 77 JHR Chevrolet.”
