The last point paying time out, CJ picked up his seventh win of the season when Kyle Larson visited victory lane in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at the Sonoma Raceway. He also had P3 too in Martin Truex Jr. as well as his low point scorer on his team in Kurt Busch grabbing his first top 10 in the last 13 races via a sixth place result.
Eric had P2 and P4 in Chase Elliott and Joey Logano respectively as he and CJ combined to have 1-2-3-4-6. Greg had fifth in Kyle Busch as the two-time Cup Series champion continues to be his best driver on his roster while the rest of his team struggled again allowing Eric and CJ to open their gap up even further.
We head to Nashville now this weekend after the All-Star break. That track is an inaugural race as we have no past data to use at our disposal. Some say it will look like Darlington to which Truex and Larson went 1-2. If that’s the case, CJ could very well open up a lead over Eric heading to Pocono a week after.
